Project Overview

Implemented since March 1998, the project is designed to provide maintenance and support for SAP R/3 Information System intended for hard disk manufacturers with production facilities located in the US, Mexico, Germany, Hungary, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan.

The SAP R/3 software support includes program development and/or modification in accordance with the customer requirements and plans, including adaptation of customer software for new SAP R3 versions. The software development/modification is done for FI, MM, SD, PP, PM and CO modules in ABAP/4 programming environment for SAP R3 versions 4.6c. The project includes 24-hour production support, primarily the support of interface processes between SAP and several remote systems on MVS platforms.

Project Execution

IBA implemented the project in close cooperation with the customer. The IBA responsibility was to form a team of skilled professionals capable of meeting all challenges of the project. People with excellent adaptability, high motivation, and strong cross-functional teamwork skills were selected for the project.

The latest technologies in network communications were used to ensure network security and reliability. Continuous secure communications were set up with all IBM/Hitachi GST customers regardless of their location. The IBA team was involved in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP R/3 applications, as well as analysis, design, development and maintenance of application interfaces, reports, conversion programs, and custom functionality (function modules, dialogues, interfaces, Batch Input processing, logical databases, area menus, Intermediate Document processing, Business Application Programming Interfaces functionality, and workflow management).

Project Results

In the years of the project’s successful implementation, a team of qualified professionals was created. At present, they work in Belarus, Germany, the US, and Canada.
