From March 3 to March 8, 2009, CeBIT, the world's largest IT and telecommunication tradeshow and conference, will open in Hannover, Germany. The event organizers are Deutsche Messe AG and BITKOM, the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media.

This year, CeBIT will feature California as its Partner State and highlight the themes of Webciety, a neologism combining the "World Wide Web" with "society", and green IT, a study and practice of using environmentally–friendly options in IT.
