In December 2006, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic approved the expansion of the IBA Group development center located in Brno as an investment project to be supported by the Czech Government. Implemented by CzechInvest, the Czech Investment and Business Development Agency, the program is designed to encourage foreign investments in the Czech high–tech industry. Within the project, IBA Group is planning to create 50 new jobs for Brno IT professionals, including local university graduates.
Commenting on the event, Sergei Levteev, IBA Group President, said: “The reasons behind the decision to invest in the expansion of the Brno branch are conducive business environment in the Czech Republic, the country's EU membership, and the growing interest in IT outsourcing of the European business community”. According to Tomas Hruda, CEO of CzechInvest, “the Czech
Republic has attracted a remarkable inflow of projects into the IT and business
support services sectors in the past few years. CzechInvest is pleased to
collaborate with IBA on its Brno project, as the proposed center will provide
sophisticated software development services which are a key part of the
company's business plans".
