Implementing Automated Testing at Real Estate Technology Provider

OBJECTIVE

Increase test coverage, reduce additional costs, and control current product quality using an automated testing process

KEY PROJECT GOALS

  • Select a proper test strategy for testing a UI web application
  • Build from scratch an automation testing process for the web application
  • Provide a capability to expand automated testing in the future (cross-browsing testing and mobile testing)
  • Establish comprehensive and user-friendly reporting

CHALLENGES

  • Ensure the project gets off to a quick start
  • Achieve maximum results in the development and support of automated tests by a limited number of developers (single developer)
  • Set up a CI pipeline to execute testing automatically
  • Configure automatically generated reporting

SOLUTION

IBA Group implemented its JuNaSe framework, a full-cycle automated testing and quality assurance solution, easy to use, scale, and maintain, and providing a full snapshot of the tested application status.

IBA Group’s Role

The IBA Group team has been providing end-to-end services throughout the project lifecycle. IBA Group is responsible for

  • Development of the QA strategy
  • Planning of test automation and development of requirements
  • Starting the testing process, including selection of tools and POC implementation
  • Implementation and execution of the automated testing
  • Maintenance of the automation testing

OUTCOME

Using the best practices and appropriate architecture in the JuNaSe framework, the testing team set up a stable and easy-to-maintain test automation process. Within 10 months from the start of the project, IBA Group implemented ~735 auto tests, including

  • Smoke scope: 290 scenarios
  • Permission scope: 405 scenarios
  • Regression scope: 40 scenarios

Automatically generated reports help find problems in minimal time.
